Learn to sew your own mini backpack with adjustable straps!

Monday, June 17th from 10am to 2pm in the No Trace sewing studio in Capitola.

In this 4 hour workshop kids will learn how to make a simple mini backpack.

For ages 8 and up.

No previous sewing experience required!

Kids will learn to cut, pin, and sew fabric.

The backpack has 2 adjustable straps on the back and closes with 2 metal snaps.  Backpacks can be made with or without the flap closure on the top.

Kids need to bring the following material:

-1/2 yard of a cotton canvas or denim or upholstery-type fabric for the exterior

-1/2 yard of quilting cotton for the interior

-2 yards of 1″ cotton webbing, or 1″ sturdy ribbon, or other 1″ wide strap material.

There is a limited selection of fabric available in the sewing studio.  Please contact Liz in advance if you would like to purchase fabric from the studio.  Studio fabric sells for $16 per yard. 

Hardware for the bags will be provided in class.

Minimum class size is 3 for this event.  If less than 3 attendees sign up, class will be cancelled & you’ll receive a full refund.
